Volunteer And Paid Position

Since 1980, CVOEO has been a Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) site, providing free tax preparation assistance to community members in need.

We provide training, and have many openings for interns and volunteers to improve the quality of this important program.  As a VITA Intern/Volunteer you can choose to be involved in one or more ways, including:

  • Greeter: greeting and screening customers
  • Tax preparer: assisting in online tax preparation
  • Advocate: connecting people with community resources

In 2013, VITA program interns and volunteers served 1,377 households, impacting the lives of 2,778 people and as a result $1.6 million was returned to the Vermont economy in federal and state refunds.
