Champlain Valley Weatherization Service
Weatherization – St. Albans & Hinesburg
The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) Weatherization Program is the local service provider for Vermont’s Weatherization Program in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties. CVOEO is seeking a Crew Member to join our team who will be responsible for safely working in the homes of low-income Vermonters. This can involve the usual hazards of construction, including but not limited to entering small spaces (attics, crawl spaces), being on ladders or scaffolding, using power tools, etc. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions.
The ideal candidate must meet the following minimum requirements: High School diploma or equivalent; basic carpentry and electrical skills; ability to safely use power tools and equipment, including on ladders; and have an understanding of building construction and materials as well as the principles of energy efficient retrofits. We are looking for a team player with a positive, can-do attitude. This position is physically demanding. Desired qualifications include training in OSHA 10; lead safe renovator; and First Aid/ CPR. Financial Futures / Growing Money Program
The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) Growing Money Program assists low-to-moderate income Vermonters in Northwest VT Counties improve their financial understanding and skills in order to support household financial stability and opportunities for building assets.
The Financial Educator assists people to increase their financial capability within the context of CVOEO’s mission to serve vulnerable and disadvantaged Vermonters. She/he furthers this mission by teaching financial classes and providing one-on-one financial coaching with a focus on improving spending, banking, credit and savings skills and behaviors. Working with the Financial Futures Program team, this position will also have responsibilities in the areas of marketing, recruitment, and administrative and program support.
Successful candidates, at a minimum, have an Associates degree in Business, Human Services, English, Math or a relevant field, although a Bachelors degree is preferred; excellent communication and people skills; experience with Microsoft Office Suite; and a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. This 40 hours/week position requires a very self-directed individual with a strong capacity for teamwork. We seek a committed professional who shows a real passion for learning more about their own financial issues as the basis for working with others, and who understands the importance of supporting household financial capability building within the context of CVOEO’s mission.
